Encouragement

How comforting and encouraging to know that the Bible was given to us....a manual for life, to teach us how to know, love and serve God with our whole life.

Colossians 3:12-14 (NKJV)"Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing iwth one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.  But above all these things, put on love which is the bond of perfection."

How are you growing?  My poor garden in the summer drought needs water desperately!  How much more do we need to be watered?  When we go for days at a time or longer, our spirit longs to be watered!  This is what I'm pondering this summer:

Women Living Well by Courtney Joseph.  The subtitle is "finding your joy in God, your man, your kids and your home."  I'm a fast reader, so I'm trying to slow myself down to savor what she's written.  Wonderful encouragement, suggestions, and examples of a woman in the trenches sharing her heart.  Find out more and get great online encouragement and Bible studies at www.goodmorninggirls.org

Twelve Extraordinary Women by John MacArthur.  Great Study that looks at 12 imperfect women from the Bible and how God used each of them for His glory.  I loved it!

Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst is another challenging book, giving practical reasons for why we need to crave God and not food.  It will "mess" with you, but it's all good!  ;)

A Heart Like His by Beth Moore.  What a wonderful study on the life of David!  If you grew up in the church and think you know all about David, think again!  I've truly enjoyed the challenge and opportunity to reflect on David and the truth's from God's Word that I can apply to my life today.
